BLDC drone motors for agricultural and industrial drones

Taraxis Motor LLP designs brushless DC (BLDC) drone motors, controllers and mounts in Chennai. The first models are to be launched, and full specifications are published at launch.

The Taraxis drone motor range

Two integrated units and three motors to start, with an 80 mm-class motor in development and more on the way.

X6 class

To be launched

For spraying and heavy-lift multirotors. Our first unit, developed against the market-standard X6 class.

X8 class

To be launched

The larger unit for heavier payloads, developed after the X6 on the same stator, rotor and controller design.

Motors

2806

To be launched

28 × 6 mm stator. For small multirotors and light survey drones.

4006

To be launched

40 × 6 mm stator. Flat and light, for mid-size multirotors and mapping.

4215

To be launched

42 × 15 mm stator. More torque for larger multirotors and light payloads.

8020

In development

An 80 mm-class BLDC motor for larger multirotors. Read more.

What a drone motor unit is made of

A Taraxis unit is a brushless DC motor with its speed controller (ESC) in one assembly. Taking an X6-class unit apart along its shaft, from top to bottom:

  • Prop clamp: holds the blades on the shaft.
  • Rotor bell: carries the magnets and spins around the stator.
  • Stator: a laminated steel core with the windings. Its leads go to the controller.
  • Motor base: carries the stator and its lower bearing, and bolts the motor to the controller.
  • ESC: the speed controller, sealed under the motor.

Choosing a drone motor

The right motor depends on the airframe, all-up weight, propeller, payload and how long the drone must fly. Send us those and we will propose an existing model, a modified winding or a new size, with the reasoning behind it.

If your airframe needs a size we do not list yet, tell us. We develop motors with drone companies, not only for them.

Specifications

Full specifications are published at launch. We publish performance figures only after they have been validated, so this page lists none yet.

Tell us your airframe, payload and timeline.

Send your brief and we will reply.
